Charline & Romain – Celtic Ceremony in Connemara

Kevin Morris

February 6, 2024 by Kevin Morris

Charline & Romain travelled over from Brittany with their two children for a Celtic Ceremony in Brigits Garden, just outside Oughertard, Co Galway.

The west of Ireland can sometimes be unpredictable weatherwise but we had a stunning day. Blue skies and butterflies accompanied us for the ceremony in the stone circle with numerous blessings and old traditions it was a lovely afternoon. We then headed over the mountains to the town of Spiddal where the weather stayed dry but the clouds rolled in over Galway Bay giving us some moody images.

Despite the language barriers (my French leaves a lot to be desired !) we had a wonderful time together and I was delighted to hear back from them :

Hi Kevin!

Thank you very much for the link! the photos are amazing! We loved to remember these precious moments. Our trip in Ireland was exceptional and we will have great memories thank to you.

We’ll say hello to you if we’ll make a new trip in your country and I promise our English will be better!!!

Thanks thanks thanks!!!

Charline and Romain

What a wonderful day spent with such a lovely couple, topped off with being back at the Village Barn, one of the more unique venues in Ireland for weddings. Two fab brides, friendly and welcoming families and friends, relaxing and fun vibe all wrapped up in a quirky alternative venue – what more could you ask for ? How about a really nice review ??

“Kevin was a pleasure to deal with right from the beginning. We wanted our day to be as relaxed and stress free as possible and Kevin managed to fit in seamlessly. He managed to capture the essence of our day perfectly all while being invisible! (Even when being attacked by a swarm of bees) We are still in awe of the finished photos and also still scratching our heads wondering how he managed to take some of the photos with no one knowing he was around. A true professional and amazing artist”

Aileen & Colms wedding took me away over to the Wild Atlantic Way, I had shot in the Diamond Coast but never visited Aughris and it’s always good to have a first !! I will definitely call back to Aughris, the Beach Bar was an absolute gem of a place.

Their brief was easy, lots of documentary style, fly on the wall photography of people having fun & enjoying their day, just my style so I was in my element.

From the moment I arrived till I left after the dancing I was made feel so much at home, at times I felt more like a guest than a photographer.

I was delighted to hear back from Aileen & Colm recently and so happy that they were so pleased with their photos.

It’s an overused phrase, but it’s also what we build our foundation on – not being keen on being in front of the camera myself, I fully know the importance of making the photos as easy and natural as possible, plus it also get the “real” emotions and laughs and, in the process hopefully captures your personality.

Don’t just take my word for it though – I recently had the pleasure of shooting Vanessa & Daniels wedding down in Co Limerick and, although only having seen a few shots, I was thrilled to hear from them :

“Thank you so much again for everything Kevin, nothing I say can do justice to how brilliant you were. Was just talking earlier about how we didn’t even realise some of these photos were being taken, you were so natural and not intrusive at all – it made for some of the most amazing shots because I feel like you really captured the essence of myself and Dan’s relationship ?“

Fast becoming one of my favourite venues, Ballykealey House set a stunning backdrop for Brigid & Ciarans wedding – the autumn colours were the star of the show !!

Delighted to hear from the happy couple :

Hi Kevin,

How are you? Just wanted to drop you a note before the weekend to say that the photos arrived yesterday. We are absolutely delighted with them, they are really stunning. The pics from the woodland especially are fabulous, the colours are just amazing. We really love them all though, the photos really captured the day the way we wanted them to. Thanks so much for an amazing job, we will definitely be leaving a great review and recommending you to anyone we can!

Have a great weekend and thanks again.

Kind regards,

Brigid and Ciaran

Over the years what couples want from their photography has changed – minimal posing, lots of natural images and what has become the most popular package – coverage from preps through to first dance.

Extended coverage has the bonus of getting a few shots of the speeches

Weather permitting, and depending on the season, it also gives the opportunity for night time photos, sunset photos, sparkler shots and the added benefit of a bit of breathing space and fresh air for the couple in the middle of a hectic day !!

Then of course there’s the dancing, the first dance and the fun when your guests join in !!

To top it all off, your images are presented in a beautiful keepsake USB box along with a selection of prints to create a timeline of your day – a beautiful way to store those precious memories.
