Brona & Ciaran – Carnaross and Cabra Castle

Kevin Morris

August 24, 2012 by Kevin Morris

On 23rd August I headed out to Carnaross Parish in Meath to photograph the wedding of Brona & Ciaran who were home from Oz for the celebrations. To say the preparations were laid back would be the understatement of the century. With 30 mins to go the girls were munching sambos and drinking champagne while still in their bridal party hoodies yet they still made it to the church on time. Sadly the weather didn’t play ball when we arrived at Cabra Castle, but luckily we had the stunning gold room for pics. and I did get a quick 5 mins outside between showers with the bride & groom.

I have a small selection of photos from the day below, and, if you happen to know either Brona or Ciaran (or both !!) feel free to leave a message.

Just click on the play button on the slideshow (bottom right) and there is also an option for full screen viewing (but you will loose some quality).

One word can sum up Marion & Donnys wedding – WOW !! From the individual touches, handmade candles, cool retro table planner, fab wedding car (Citroen CX), the stunning venue (Bellinter House) through to the extremely helpful staff, I could go on, as even the weather got in on the act and behaved !!  A lovely ceremony was held in Culmullen Church followed by champers in the grounds of the hotel. Before we knew it, the guests were heading into the marquee allowing Marion & Donny a bit of “chill-out” time before the partying resumed.

I have a small selection of photos from the day below, just click on the play icon in the bottom right and there is also an option for full screen (although some image quality will be lost), and, if you know either Marion, Donny (or both !!) feel free to leave a comment for them.

About 17 months ago I met Cyril when he acted as best man at John & Siobhans wedding. This time, the roles were reversed and John was Cyrils best man as Cyril & Mary tied the knot in Phibsboro and headed off to their reception in The Castleknock Hotel. Despite it being Friday 13th there were no problems  whatsoever (although I do think we were being stalked by a couple of lifesize balloons !!)  the only downer being the sudden shower of rain which prevented us heading up to the Botanic Gardens for a few pics . I have a few pics from the day in the slideshow below, just click on the play icon on the bottom right. If you know either Mary or Cyril feel free to leave a comment for them as they will be checking in from time to time.

It was standing room only in the small church in Ballyduff, Wexford where friends & family gathered to see Honor & Fergal tie the knot. There must have been a population explosion in Prague, as, the torrential rain which have covered the country for most of the week dried up, the sky was blue with white fluffy clouds, so, we put it down to the numbers of “child/children of Prague” doing the rounds !! After the lovely ceremony, celebrated by Honors Uncle Felix (quite a character) we had a few shots outside a genuine “olde worlde” shop and on off to Honors parents house for some family photos. Then on with the air conditioning and off to the fab Whites Hotel in Wexford, greeted by a stunning display of chocolate strawberries and drinks in the courtyard. With the heat & sun we could have been in Spain, and with such welcoming & friendly families my job couldn’t have been much easier. See below for a small selection of photos from the day, just click on the play icon on the bottom right, and, if you happen to know Honor or Fergal feel free to leave a comment as they will be checking in from time to time.

I was back in familiar territory on 16th June revisiting St Feichins Church in Fore and on to the Abbey for a few pics. I had been there last year photographing Siobhan & Johns Wedding. Luckily, the heavy rain of the morning disappeared and, although the sun refused to shine it did stay dry enough for a few outdoor pics at the stunning Fore Abbey. Both Breege & Stephen were extremely relaxed on the day, and, along with the welcome I received from both families, and their friends, the photos went very smoothly. This had to be the case as, when we arrived at the hotel, we were told we had 30 mins before the calling for the meal. I think I broke some sort of record, getting all the family, extended family, godparents, friends from work, friends from college etc……all done inside 25 mins !!!

I have a few pics from the day attached and hopefully it will give you an idea of the day. Just click on the play button on the bottom right and it will start to loop, there is also an option to go “full screen” but some quality might be lost. If you know either Breege & Stephen please feel free to leave a message for them as they will be checking in from time to time.

Friday 4th was a bit of a trip down memory lane for me. Paula & Dave got married in the Oblates in Inchicore, where, 85 years ago, my Dad started his 8 (yes 8 !!) years as an altar boy, its was also the destination for years of Sunday afternoon walks with my mam so it was nice to be there again after many years. The weather forecast was a bit foreboding but it managed to stay bright enough for a few pics in the church grounds before we headed off to Wicklow to the lovely Summerhill House Hotel. The hotel looked as great as usual, and again, the weather played ball, giving us enough dry time to get a quick session of family pics in the gardens. It was a pleasure to be part of such a nice day and Paula & Dave were one of the most laid back and relaxed couples I have dealt with. See the slideshow below for a selection of images from the day. Just click on the play icon in the bottom right where you also have an option for full screen. If you know Paula & Dave  feel free to leave a comment as they will be checking in from time to time.
