Joanna & Nigel at Ballymagarvey Village

Real Weddings

January 20, 2025 by Kevin Morris

I shot my first wedding in Ballymagarvey when it was just opening (many years ago !), it still remains one of my favourite venues in the country so I was thrilled to shoot Joanna & Nigels big day there last summer. This was a day full of laughs, fun and love and it was so nice to be part of it. From the preps through to the dancing the day went so smoothly, drinks on the lawn, singing waiters, beautiful light for evening photos, everything just fell into place and Joanna & Nigel were so laid back and relaxed it really suited my style of photography.

What a wonderful year 2024 was. I got to meet some lovely couples, revisit some favourite venues of mine as well as explore some new ones, all while capturing the fun & emotions of some fabulous days. I really feel lucky to do what I do and am so looking forward to 2025 and more of the same.

If you’re looking for stress free and relaxed photography while still getting those “must have” shots alongside timeless couple photos why not get in contact. Each day is planned to ensure that each couple get to spend as much time as possible with their guests to mingle, have fun and enjoy their day.

I would love to hear from you 🙂

Had such a fab time photographing Shiela & Tommys big day at Poulaphouca House. such a warm welcome from the start and plenty of laughs all throughout the day. The weather was perfect and all their guests enjoyed drinks al fresco in the beautiful gardens.

An integral part of my photography on a wedding day is documentary. Although I ensure to get the “must have” shots and some timeless couple shots my preference is to let the day flow as much as possible and work in the background. It’s those little unseen interactions, laughs, tears etc. that make the photos extra special and black & white is so suited to documentary style as your eye isn’t distracted by colours and you focus in on the emotions.

See below for a very small selection of my documentary style.

Was delighted to capture Ash & Sams big day in Wicklow. They wanted a relaxed day, no stress but still capturing all the “must have” with the minimum of cheese and plenty of time to mingle with their guests. With everything happening on site in Brooklodge and the stunning backdrops, and the lovely couple being so chilled & welcoming this was an easy task, even a couple of showers couldn’t dampen spirits. A wonderful day was made even more memorable with Sams mam, Louise, being the celebrant on the day.

“Just wanted to thank you for the beautiful photos, they are fab and capture our wedding day perfectly. Thanks so much for everything, Ash & Sam.”

Megan & Paddy travelled from New York to celebrate their big day with family and friends at the wonderful Lough Rynn Castle. From start to finish this was such a laid back & fun day, the castles grounds provided the perfect backdrop for photos and we still had plenty of time to mingle before the meal call.
