Just a couple of pics from Sarah & Ronans recent wedding in Crover House Hotel in Cavan. I shot the wedding in my usual informal style, but every now & then a photo just begs for some “classical” treatment.

Have been quiet on here for the last while as work has me swamped (a great complaint !!). May is traditionally my busiest month between weddings, communions & confirmations and now I can focus on editing and sending out the remaining weddings from the last few months.
Once again, over the last 5 months, I realised how lucky I am to do what I do. Not only do I love photography, but I have met some wonderful, friendly & quirky couples…..and don’t get me started on the bridesmaids !! I have also worked with old colleagues from the wedding industry, visited some new venues, called back to familiar ones and taken bookings for some potentially really exciting weddings.
As I have said in previous posts, my “mission” on the day is to create stunning, artistic images, along with informal shots capturing the atmosphere – all the while making it as painless and smooth a process as possible, giving each couple plenty of time to mingle with their friends & family. If that sounds like what you want for your big day just drop me a line through the contact page and we can take things from there.
In the meantime, see below for a small selection of a few of the weddings so far – hope you enjoy 🙂

January & February are strange times for wedding photogaphers – it’s a very busy time, but very few photos are being taken. A huge amount of time goes into clearing backlogs after the Christmas rush and answering enquiries as Jan & Feb traditionally have the largest volume of enquiries, between couples from this year panicking, and couples from next year planning ahead. Then we are also getting our cameras, lenses & other equipment serviced and prepped for this years weddings, as well as formatting drives and cards so, when things get manic again, we can just concentrate on the important bit…taking photos !! I also have a couple of other things in process….watch out for exciting news & developments over the coming weeks 🙂 So it’s nearly goodbye to 2015 (just a few weddings left) and hello to 2016 🙂

Always nice to get feedback from your peers and in the most recent heat of the IPPA Photographer of the Year I received awards for the following 5 images – happy times 🙂

Kevin was our photographer for our wedding in September. From the moment I met him months earlier I knew he was going to be great!!! Kevin is such a nice guy and really puts you at ease- this is very important when U are spending the day with someone who is taking your photo!! Kevin came to my mams house on morning of wedding and stayed right though until the first dances. He captured some really fantastic images of the day…. Your wedding photographs are so important, something you only get one chance at…. Anyone out there looking for a photographer, do yourself a favour and book Kevin. You won’t regret it. Thanks Kevin! My 2015 weddings were wrapped up on a wet & windy 31st December in the warm & cosy Trim Castle Hotel. Many, many thanks to all those couples who put their trust in me for their big day, I met so many wonderful couples, friendly families and slightly bonkers bridal parties there was never a dull moment. I got to revisit some favourite reception venues, and even discovered a few new ones (after 10 years that’s an achievement !!). I also got to meet a lot of familiar faces at weddings during the year courtesy of their recommendations for which I am extremely grateful, all bookings are great, but bookings based on referrals are especially nice. Looking ahead to 2016 there are only a select few dates available up to mid-August, with a bit more in terms of availability through to the end of December.
See below for a selection of images from throughout the year, not a “best of” nor a “favourites” gallery, just a compilation of images which reflect my style –Â informal, relaxed, with, where possible, a bit of the wow factor sprinkled in. I am often asked if I do family shots, and yes, of course I do, but my preference is to capture the unposed moments, the laughs, the hugs, the mad friends and build up a balanced and emotional story of the day rather than just a selection of poses.
Here’s to a great year 🙂
