Kate & Darren at Kilshane House

Kilshane House

October 5, 2021 by Kevin Morris

What a wonderful way to start getting back into weddings. Kate & Darren had their intimate celebration at Kilshane House, the weather behaved and we actually had the ceremony down by the lakeshide in the boathouse followed by drinks in the courtyard a the front of the house. I was welcomed with open arms (virtual !!) and really felt part of the day from start to finish. I was delighted when I received some lovely feedback from them both :

“Kevin was the photographer for our wedding in Kilshane House this summer and he was absolutely brilliant. He was so lovely and fun to work with. He was able to blend into the background and capture everybody so beautifully. We have so many candid pictures that we absolutely love. Kevin also took amazing posed pictures and made us feel so relaxed during the process. We have such a lovely mix of posed and candid pictures, our biggest issue is now choosing which ones to add to our album!!! The initial presentation of the photographs was also really lovely. We received a wooden box with ~100 chosen snaps and a matching USB with >1000 other pictures. I would absolutely recommend him to anybody!”

Last autumn I had the absolute pleasure of shooting Sharon & Pauls wedding at the stunning Kilshane House, Tipperary. It really is a wonderful time to shoot there and the weather played it’s part, clear & sunny day lighting up the wonderful autumn tones in the trees. Throw in a relaxed couple with little or no demands and a clear night so we could get a few outside shots before the dancing and overall it was a fab day. Have a look at the photos below to get an idea.

Received another lovely bit of feedback from one of my recent couples, well chuffed !! 🙂  –  although it was hard to go wrong with the subjects, the location & the general fun on the day.

Sometimes things just fall into place. When shooting Jodi & Jonathans wedding in the stunning surroundings of Kilshance House, we had a choice to make. While at the local church it was a case of greeting line or no greeting line, the weather was baltic so we decided to head back to the hotel. We pulled in down by the lake and the late evening light was coming through the tress which were in the height of their autumn colours. We managed to grab a few pics before the wind picked up, along with showers and we headed to the warmth of the open fires in Kilshane. We spent 15 mins taking photos in the forest, but, if we had have had a greeting line it would have been too dark & cold – the result………a selection of fab pics of the couple, one of which is below.

It’s been a fairly hectic couple of months and I have neglected my website a bit. Although some of these weddings will be getting their own blogs & sneak peeks I thought I would share just a few pics of what I have been up to. I have been on the road a fair bit (yes, it is a long way to Tipperary !!) and had the pleasure of visiting a few new venues for me such as Bellingham Castle, Kilshane House, Hunters Hotel & Markree Castle and also revisited quite a few favourites, met up with old friends, previous wedding couples, worked with some great colleagues from the industry, most of all however, I had the pleasure and privilege of shooting the weddings of some fantastic couples, with friendly & welcoming families & friends. Hopefully I can do their days justice 🙂
