Rarely do we get to complain about the weather being too good, but this was the case for Shauna and Davys big day at Seafield !! Not a cloud in the sky and blistering sunshine all day. Luckily, having shot quite a few weddings at Seafield I knew a couple of shaded spots, and a few others to take advantage of the very “unIrish” weather. Neither Shauna nor Davy wanted to be away from their guests for too long so we drafted up a timeline for the day and everything fell into place perfectly on the day so they had plenty of time for mingling and yet we still got some epic shots. This was a joy of a wedding to work on from warm welcomes to emotional speeches, great location (I love shooting in Seafield) and such a nice and genuine couple, these type of days are why I feel privileged to do what I do for a living. I was so thrilled when, after delivery of their album, I received a lovely email from the happy couple.

We received our album last week and we are absolutely delighted with it. Pictures we will surely treasure forever.
Thanks you so much for everything over the past year. It has been a pleasure to work with you, everything was so stress free. Your work is truly amazing and we have got so many compliments on our wedding photos.

Getting married in the autumn (fall) can be a fantastic time. Country lanes, city parks and even hotel grounds are awash with wonderful colours. These three shots were taken in three such locations, one outside a hotel lobby at night, the other along a pathway to a ruined abbey and the third one taken in a Dublin city park, a stones throw away from the hustle & bustle of the busy streets. Yes, there might be the possibility of rain, but with an Irish wedding you are going to have that possibility year round !!! It’s becoming more & more popular these days to have either an engagement or a pre-wedding shoot. It’s actually a great idea for both the couple and the photographer. Firstly, it gets the couple used to being relaxed in front of the camera, they get used to the photographers style and it also builds up a nice rapport between everyone which should feed over in the photos on the big day itself. It also gets the photographer used to the couple, not everyone is relaxed with public displays of affection while some couples can’t keep their hands off each other !! Generally, it makes the bride and groom photos on the day that bit easier, everyone knows what to expect and stress levels are usually non-existent. It also has the added bonus of some lovely shots of the couple which can be used perhaps on invitations, for some of the decoration on the day or maybe in a signature frame where guests sign around a favourite image from the shoot. All in all it’s a win win !! I am also so lucky with where I am based as we have a choice of parkland, woodland and expansive beaches to chose from. Martina & Steve dropped out the other morning for a few shots on the (very chilly) beach and it was a nice relaxing way to start to ease me into the wedding season. Prices for an engagement shoot start at €295 to include up to an hour of photography and all your images in full high resolution and non-watermarked.

Although my main photographic style on your wedding day is very relaxed and unobtrusive I am a firm believer in achieving a balance on the day. We make sure to capture the details, the hidden moments, the fun etc. but we also make sure to get the family photos, bridal party photos and some bride & groom photos. The bride & groom shots are not overly rigid, they would probably be more directed than posed, but, if the chance arises for a wow moment we will grab it !!

The key to our work on the day is to ensure that each bride & groom get to spend as much time as possible with their families & friends without any compromise on the final images.
