Informal & Relaxed Photography

Step House Hotel

September 20, 2017 by Kevin Morris

So far, 2017 has been a fab year with lots of new venues, and the privilege of shooting some fantastic weddings for lovely couples.

Throughout the year I stayed true to my general style where the “focus” is on informal and relaxed photography with a few shots with a bit of the wow factor thrown in. My main goal on the day is to ensure that each couple get to spend as much time as possible with their family and friends rather than in front of the camera but without any compromise on the quality of the final images.

2018 is looking good with a couple of months already booked out, and some enquiries coming in for 2019 and even 2020 !!

The few photos below are just a sample of what I do and all taken from this years weddings.

Feel free to drop me a line through the contact form to check availability and I will be delighted to get back to you.

With the fab surroundings & the friendly staff the Stephouse Hotel in Borris is one of my favourite spots. I was extra spoiled with Sinead, David and their families being so friendly & welcoming, along with the preparations being held in the Lorum Old Rectory (my first visit there), with lots of tears, lots of laughs, drinks in the patio garden, Game of Thrones & mini hurleys, this wedding had a bit of everything !!!! Especially nice was the feedback & thank you note received from Sinead & David.

“Dear Kevin, thank you so much for the wonderful photos of our wedding day. We are beyond happy with them. Thank you for all you did for us on the day. You are truly excellent at your job and we can’t recommend you enough. Thank you again, Sinead & David Leddy XXX”

I had a great day in the Stephouse shooting Elaine & Barrys wedding in late 2014. If ever there was proof that people make the wedding this was it…..despite constant rain, everyone still had a blast in the fab surroundings of the Stephouse. Great laughs all day, an epic photobomb (image number 45 !!) and a selection of cakes to die for 🙂 Hopefully the pics below will give you an idea of the day, and I was delighted to receive a lovely email from the couple :

Hi Kevin

We’ve settled back into normal everyday life after the honeymoon and a big house move. We were so excited to go through the wedding photographs when we got back!

We are just so happy with them all – you captured our day perfectly. I’m in love with the candid, fly on the wall style – it’s great to see everyone enjoying themselves! And the posed shots even look natural!
They are exactly what we wanted, it’s going to be a hard job figuring out what to use for our album.
It was so special to be able to relive the day through the photo’s, especially to see my grandad as he passed away recently.

Thank you again, you were so easy to deal with and would highly recommend you to anyone!
All the best
Elaine & Barry

Always nice when couples take the time to write – especially when it’s good news !!Received an email from Anita & Dave after they picked up their wedding photos

“Hi Kevin,

Received our photographs this morning and myself and David are delighted with them. You did such an amazing job, thank you so much, you really captured the day.

Best wishes,

Anita & David”

Now that my trumpet has been blown – see below for a small selection of images from their day – hope you enjoy 🙂

Friday 12th April took me back down the N11 to Wexford for the wedding of Geraldine & Gavin. Luckily, despite the cold, the weather more or less behaved and Geraldine was delighted to meet a surprise guest (of the four legged variety) after a lovely ceremony in Crossabeg Church. Then it was off to familiar territory and the wonderful Step House hotel in Borris. Great couple, great guests, great venue….my kind of wedding !

It was back down to the Step House Hotel or Nicola & Rays wedding on the 07th December. Borris is fast becoming a “local” for me as I was welcomed by both the church sacristan, and Angela in the Step House by name !! Nicola & her bridesmaids looked stunning and even kept the goosebumps under control despite the cold, but we didn’t stay for photos for long as the blazing fires and mulled wine in the hotel were calling !! With a great couple, welcoming families & friends & fab locations I hope I did the day proud.

Have a look at the slideshow below to check it out for yourself, just click on the play icon (bottom right) to set it off and there is an option for full screen if you wish. Should you know either Nicola or Ray feel free to leave a comment for them.
