Positive Thinking

tulfarris hotel and country club

July 1, 2017 by Kevin Morris

When I met Aisling & Alan on the lead up to their wedding we discussed the possibility of a sunset shot. I was staying to the first dances, and I know Tulfarris (wedding venue) quite well so had a spot in mind for a quick shot between the end of the meal & the first dances. On the morning of the wedding it was wet & overcast, and during the day this changed to windy and overcast but no sign of the sun. After the cake cutting the sun was still being elusive, but after a quick chat we decided to go outside anyway as the fresh air and a little bit of “quiet” time was very tempting to the happy couple. As we strolled down to where I had planned a gap in the clouds appeared, followed by a quick 5 mins of a sunset over the Blessington Lakes. Throughout the day I had promised a sunset shot, but mainly as a joke, but we were rewarded in spades for a quick walk outside 🙂

“Dublin can be heaven with a wedding at eleven and a stroll through Stephens Green” – okay – may be the wedding wasn’t quite eleven but we did stroll through Stephens Green and it was heaven for Phil & Chris who couldn’t contain their happiness as they tied the knot in the city registry office. The smiles were infectious and after a quick couple of hours I headed off with a skip in my step. All was made even better when I received a lovely message from the happy couple ” Hi Kevin. We are so absolutely trilled with the quality of your work. The photo presentation box is just beautiful. Some fantastic shots. The movie brought a tear to our eyes. Such a special and emotional day. You are so relaxed in your approach and we felt so comfortable. We will highly recommend you to our friends and family. Thanks again. Phil & Chris.

Kevin was our photographer for our wedding in September. From the moment I met him months earlier I knew he was going to be great!!! Kevin is such a nice guy and really puts you at ease- this is very important when U are spending the day with someone who is taking your photo!! Kevin came to my mams house on morning of wedding and stayed right though until the first dances. He captured some really fantastic images of the day…. Your wedding photographs are so important, something you only get one chance at…. Anyone out there looking for a photographer, do yourself a favour and book Kevin. You won’t regret it. Thanks Kevin! It was hard to go wrong shooting Rachael & Collies wedding – such a lovely couple, slightly giddy, great venue and even the torrential rain stopped so we could get a few outside pics. Even though, it was still a huge feeling of relief when I heard back from them 🙂

“Thank you Kevin for our beautiful wedding photos. You captured the day perfectly and we are delighted to have so many memories of our big day. You were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end and we will be recommending you to everyone! Thanks again 🙂 ” Rachael & Collie

I really enjoy shooting in Tulfarris, between the venue, the Manor House, the view and the staff it really is a great spot for a wedding. Add in a lovely couple, a cute daughter and some slightly mad bridesmaids and you have a recipe for a fantastic day. It really was a pleasure to be part of Susan & Freds big day, I stayed right through to the dancing and things were only warming up 🙂 – hopefully the small selection of images below can give you an idea of the day – enjoy !

I’m always a little bit nervous when I photograph weddings of friends, I spent many sweaty nights with Rachael & Colly at bootcamp so at least we had seen each other at our worst and we shared a hatred for burpees !!! I needn’t have worried as it was a totally relaxed & friendly affair, the couple scrubbed up well 🙂 ,  the heavy rainshowers couldn’t put a dampner on things and the staff in Tulfarris were as helpful & accomodating as usual. I was thrilled to be part of such a special day, and hopefully the few pics below will give you an idea of how happy the day was.
