Charline & Romain – Celtic Ceremony in Connemara

unobtrusive wedding photography

February 6, 2024 by Kevin Morris

Charline & Romain travelled over from Brittany with their two children for a Celtic Ceremony in Brigits Garden, just outside Oughertard, Co Galway.

The west of Ireland can sometimes be unpredictable weatherwise but we had a stunning day. Blue skies and butterflies accompanied us for the ceremony in the stone circle with numerous blessings and old traditions it was a lovely afternoon. We then headed over the mountains to the town of Spiddal where the weather stayed dry but the clouds rolled in over Galway Bay giving us some moody images.

Despite the language barriers (my French leaves a lot to be desired !) we had a wonderful time together and I was delighted to hear back from them :

Hi Kevin!

Thank you very much for the link! the photos are amazing! We loved to remember these precious moments. Our trip in Ireland was exceptional and we will have great memories thank to you.

We’ll say hello to you if we’ll make a new trip in your country and I promise our English will be better!!!

Thanks thanks thanks!!!

Charline and Romain

Aileen & Colms wedding took me away over to the Wild Atlantic Way, I had shot in the Diamond Coast but never visited Aughris and it’s always good to have a first !! I will definitely call back to Aughris, the Beach Bar was an absolute gem of a place.

Their brief was easy, lots of documentary style, fly on the wall photography of people having fun & enjoying their day, just my style so I was in my element.

From the moment I arrived till I left after the dancing I was made feel so much at home, at times I felt more like a guest than a photographer.

I was delighted to hear back from Aileen & Colm recently and so happy that they were so pleased with their photos.

Now that wedding season is finally making a comeback I thought it would be a good time to remind you about what we do and how we operate on the day.

Our style is to blend into the background as much as possible, capture those hidden and unposed moments but we also understand the need for the “must have” shots so we incorporate those into the plan for the day. In the end, each couple gets a balanced selection of mainly documentary images but alongside the all important family shots and hopefully some stunning couple photos.

We take the stress out of the photos, less of the in your face “say cheese” style of photo and more of the “walk over there and chat amongst yourselves images”.

We offer a selection of packages which can easily be tailored to suit from digital packages, to USB packages and of course some fabulous albums.

If you are planning your big day and want stunning images with the minimum of fuss we would love to hear from you, we operate throughout Ireland and have shot abroad also.

We are blessed with so many wonderful wedding venues throughout the country, but we all have our favourites, and for me, Clonabreany is one of mine.

I have been shooting here now for many years and I still love the relaxed vibe, the great grounds and the helpful staff. Rachel and Tony were such an easygoing and friendly couple and were a perfect match for Clonabreany, and also for my style of natural and relaxed photography. From early morning preps in Tom Blake House, working alongside Gerry from Limelight Wedding Films, and with the girls in the hands of the wonderful Fiona Harrison and Stylicious Styling I knew I was on to a winner of a day – and what a day it was !!

Hopefully the photos below can give you an idea of the day, and, if they look like what you might like for your celebration just get in touch – we would love to hear from you !

I was delighted to be asked to shoot Therese & Robs wedding next year in Horetown House and really excited to be asked to do an engagement shoot down in Carrigfoyle Quarry, a spot I had never visited.Having photographed the weddings of both of Robs sisters we had met before and they knew my style but it was fun to meet up for an enjoyable and relaxed walk, with a few photos thrown in !!!

“Hi Kevin,

Thank you so much for our photos, we are so delighted with them. We really enjoyed our time with you that day. It was lovely and relaxed and great to spend some time with you before our wedding next year.
Thanks Again,
Therese & Rob”

Finally some good news on the wedding front with numbers increasing and the future prospect of better times ahead.

It was a long wait, and whether you have 6, 25, 50 or more at your big day it will be worth the wait. It might have caused stress, tears, even driven you to drink but, just like when your love meets you at the top of the aisle, you know all will be good with the world.

Looking forward to the rest of this year and returning to doing what we do best, documenting the happiest of days no matter what the numbers are.
