Some recent feedback

unobtrusive wedding photography

November 25, 2014 by Kevin Morris

It’s always nice when couples take the time out of their busy lives to say thanks, as most of my images are not presented on a face to face basis you are often left wondering “are they happy ? are they not happy ? did the photos arrive ?” so, not only does good feedback swell the head a bit, it also eases the mind !!

Hi Kevin!! Just looked through all of our fabulous wedding pictures and we are absolutely over the moon! You have captured our big day in such a beautiful and personable way and we are sooo delighted!!!

Thank you so much for everything!

It’s been a fairly hectic couple of months and I have neglected my website a bit. Although some of these weddings will be getting their own blogs & sneak peeks I thought I would share just a few pics of what I have been up to. I have been on the road a fair bit (yes, it is a long way to Tipperary !!) and had the pleasure of visiting a few new venues for me such as Bellingham Castle, Kilshane House, Hunters Hotel & Markree Castle and also revisited quite a few favourites, met up with old friends, previous wedding couples, worked with some great colleagues from the industry, most of all however, I had the pleasure and privilege of shooting the weddings of some fantastic couples, with friendly & welcoming families & friends. Hopefully I can do their days justice 🙂

Despite what Alanis Morrissette might say, rain on your wedding day is not ironic, after all, this is Ireland and rain on any day, even mid August, is a possibility. Luckily most hotels and wedding venues are fully aware of this and have some nice indoor spots should the child of Prague not do its job. Here is a shot from a recent wedding where the rain never stopped or eased off till the start of the meal. I took the b&g to a stunning candlelight staircase and we managed to bag this shot.

If you are willing to risk the cold, the dark evenings and the possibility of rain,  (although any wedding in Ireland, whenever it takes place is risking rain !!) during late October nature can provide a fantastic backdrop for your wedding photos. While shooting  Jonathan & Jodis wedding we had about 30 minutes from leaving the church until it began getting dark. Luckily, the church in Bansha is only a couple of minutes from Kilshane House which is stunning this time of year. I had 15 minutes with the couple in a quiet woodland area and we managed to get some stunning photos.

I loved heading back to Tulfarris to shoot Becky & Gregs wedding, not only was I very familiar with the Hotel & grounds, but Becky & Greg were two of the most laid back & relaxed people you could meet. After a beautiful & intimate ceremony it was off to sample the delights of the retro candy cart & lemonade bar and then out onto the golf course (via the wedding golf buggy) for a few pics. The sun shone and everyone had a wonderful time – what more could you ask for ?

It was great to visit Bohernabreena Church for a happy occasion as my previous visit had been for funerals !! Roisin & Tomas had planned everything from afar (Australia to be exact) but the one thing they could control, the weather, was predicted to misbehave. All plans of stops on the trip to the Glenview Hotel, along with possibilities of drives over the mountains were scrapped as we tried to beat the bad weather to the venue. Luckily we made it to the hotel with about 20 mins to spend in the gardens before the heavens opened, but even the heavy downpours couldn’t dampen spirits as a great time was had by all 🙂
