Although I don’t push them, I would always recommend getting a wedding album made. A beautiful keepsake to last through the ages, it might not always be on display, but it’s wonderful to take out on family occasions to have a look through.

I was delighted to design a recent album for Brandon as a surprise gift for Lynn for their first anniversary, and thrilled that they were so happy with it.

“We opened up the album yesterday! Wow it turned out fantastic!! Thanks so much!!! Lynn loved it!!”

Brandon chose the ever popular linen covered album with personalised cover, presentation box and parent albums.

Capture the moment is an often overused photography expression, but it describes documentary/reportage photography perfectly. These are fleeting moments, missed by many but, thanks to photography now captured forever. The day goes by so fast for each couple, it’s nice to be able to look back on those little interactions, laughs, tears & hugs that they missed or went so quickly they had forgotten about.

My style on the day is to try keep everything as documentary as possible, whereas I still get all those “must have” shots and am more than happy to try get specific shots wanted by each couple, I prefer a fly on the wall approach and capturing the day as it unfolds.

I also prefer most of my documentary shots to be in Black & White – the viewer is not distracted by colours and the focus is on the moment. Colour versions are always available if required !!

Let’s face it, not everyone likes being in front of the camera, especially on your wedding day when you want to mingle with your family & friends and not spend all day hanging out with your photographer !!

I specialise in stress free photography, less of the stiff poses and more of a documentary style of photos. Blending into the background I capture the day as it unfolds and while we still get all the “must have” shots alongside some timeless couple shots, it’s all done with the minimum of fuss giving plenty of time for couples to chill with their guests and enjoy their day.

See below for just a few lines of feedback from happy couples.

“We didn’t even realise some of these photos were being taken, you were so natural and not intrusive at all” Vanessa & Dan

“He managed to capture the essence of our day perfectly, all while being invisible !!” Amy & Richelle

“Thank you so much for the amazing photography and thank you for being so easy-going and relaxed”. Aileen & Colm.

“Thanks again for the way you approached the day and for the way you made everyone so comfortable & relaxed.” Niamh & Greg

“It was only when we saw the photos that we realised he had a birds eye view and caought so many of the candid moments, he put us all at ease and was great to have around on the day” Helena & Joe

Was delighted to be back at the Stephouse in Borris for the wonderful day when Aisling & Alan tied the knot. Both Aisling & Alan were getting ready in the village, the ceremony was in the hotel and the gardens provided a beautiful autumn backdrop for the photos. Such a nice, welcoming and laid back couple with an easy brief, not too much posing, not too much fuss, capture the day as it unfolds, perfect for my style.

I was so happy to hear back from them :

“We were absolutely delighted with the photos and you managed to get everything we asked for. The photos weren’t too posed which is exactly what we wanted. You were discreet the entire day and very patient with us when we were distracted with our guests.  The whole day from start to finish went so smoothly!”
Aisling & Alan

See below for a few photos from the day – hope you enjoy !

Charline & Romain travelled over from Brittany with their two children for a Celtic Ceremony in Brigits Garden, just outside Oughertard, Co Galway.

The west of Ireland can sometimes be unpredictable weatherwise but we had a stunning day. Blue skies and butterflies accompanied us for the ceremony in the stone circle with numerous blessings and old traditions it was a lovely afternoon. We then headed over the mountains to the town of Spiddal where the weather stayed dry but the clouds rolled in over Galway Bay giving us some moody images.

Despite the language barriers (my French leaves a lot to be desired !) we had a wonderful time together and I was delighted to hear back from them :

Hi Kevin!

Thank you very much for the link! the photos are amazing! We loved to remember these precious moments. Our trip in Ireland was exceptional and we will have great memories thank to you.

We’ll say hello to you if we’ll make a new trip in your country and I promise our English will be better!!!

Thanks thanks thanks!!!

Charline and Romain
