Roisin & Niall – Milltown and Castleknock

Kevin Morris

April 22, 2015 by Kevin Morris

I had met Roisin & Niall while shooting Roisins sisters wedding a couple of years ago so was delighted when they contacted me from Singapore for their own big day. We had stunning weather and I had trips down memory lane driving through Churchtown and the old grounds of St Annes Milltown. We dropped into the Phoenix Park for a few shots and then onto Castleknock Country Club Hotel where I got dragged into join in the meal – unexpected but appreciated 🙂 As I left, the dancing was in full swing and the place was rocking. What a lovely way to spend a workday !

Received a lovely card in the post the other day from Maggi & Bobby whose wedding I had the pleasure to shoot back in August 2014. Had a great day heading out to Moycullen and then on into Galway City for the ceremony and the heavy rain didn’t dampen any spirits. Added enjoyment on the day was meeting up again with Pat from Getaway Cars, and of course the lovely meal in the Galway Bay hotel (in the company of Andrew Davey Videography) – staying for the first dances sometimes has a bonus 🙂 . The card reads as follows :

Kevin, we couldn’t be happier with our pictures, we show them to everyone, I will be recommending you to many more brides. Your pictures are the the Galway Now March edition and they came out lovely in the magazine too. Thanks for everything. Delighted to have such beautiful pictures of our wedding. Love Maggi & Bobby.

Hopefully you will enjoy the pics below which give a little idea of how happy the day was.

Although my most popular package is still my digital package, I always recommend couples to come back to me at some stage to organize a wedding album. From storybook to slightly more traditional and hand assembled bespoke albums there are styles and tastes to suit all budgets. Yes, the albums can be expensive, but they should be !!  When making an investment you want to ensure that the quality of both the album and the printing stands the test of time. This is not just for a wedding couple, but for their children & grandchildren down through the years.

Remember cassette tapes ? Well DVDs could be heading down the obsolete road soon, and although I provide USB keys, how long will it be till they become outdated ? What doesn’t become obsolete or go out of style ?? Photographs ! With a high quality wedding album you have a tangible object which can be handed down through generations for years and dragged out on special occasions (anniversaries, childrens weddings etc..) even if it’s just to laugh at the fashions & hairstyles !!!

You won’t regret investing in an album, but you may regret not doing so.  See below for a storybook layout of a recent wedding 🙂

The end of February saw me packing my bags and heading down to Clare for Niamh & Pauls wedding. This was a wedding with a difference as the ceremony was not till 3pm so, we did the bridal party shots before the wedding, and before the wind & rain !! It was such a lovely & relaxed affair and made my job on the day an absolute joy 🙂  –  check out the photos below for a small sample of the day….and what about Niamhs stunning shoes !!

I’m a sucker for silhouettes – so, when couples often ask me what we will do if it gets dark I never worry – albeit helped by a sunset, this type of image is achievable with minimum fuss. This was taken in Ballymagarvey Village, after sunset in late November and there was no set up apart from “face each other and kiss” !! 🙂
