Wedding packages – details and prices

Packages

November 28, 2016 by Kevin Morris

Planning your wedding for 2018/ 2019 ?
Do you want your photos to be relaxed & informal but without any compromise on quality ?
Why not check out our feedback, our style and browse through the various packages and prices, and, if you like what you see,
please drop us a line and we’ll see if we can work together to create wonderful memories of your big day.

We would love to hear from you.

We operate in a mainly documentary style, capturing the day as it unfolds but we are only too happy to mix in some classical, or photos with the WOW factor if the opportunity presents itself.

The key to our work is to provide a balanced memory of your day and to ensure that each couple get to spend as much time with their friends & family as possible.

Among the many comments from wedding couples are “I/We hate having my/our picture taken”, “xxx is very nervous about the photos”, “we don’t want rigid poses, we like more natural shots”, “how long will the photos take, I want to spend time with my guests”.

One way to address this is to consider the increasingly popular “engagement shoot” where the couple get to meet their photographer in a relaxed atmosphere and come out the other side with a fab selection of images, but there are plenty of other real benefits as well.

Firstly, you get to know your photographer, their style, their personality, how they pose couples, how fast they “get the shot” and how they interact with you, it also benefits the photographer as they get to know you better, how you interact as a couple, if you are hands-on (literally), what aspects of the photos, if any, are you nervous about and this is a great time for them to give you any posing tips if necessary. This is invaluable preparation for the big day as it’s all done in a relaxed and easygoing manner, with no rushing and without the inconvenience of a wedding celebration going on in the background !! 🙂

When the big day comes around, both you & the photographer know exactly what to expect,  for couples who hate having the photos taken they are much more at ease, and a big plus is that it saves time on the day – anyone who gets married will tell you how fast time goes by so any extra time saved is precious.

Other benefits are of course a lovely selection of photos of yourself & your fiance, these can be used on your “save the date” cards, invitations, table settings, seating plan etc..and, if you are planning a wedding website, you have a great gallery of images at the ready. A lot of photographers also offer the option of a signature board where an image of your choice is matted behind a heavy duty mount board for your guests to sign on your wedding day and for you to frame as a keepsake.

But perhaps the biggest benefit are the moments in time captured between you & your fiance at the start of the next stage of your relationship.

Although my most popular package is still my digital package, I always recommend couples to come back to me at some stage to organize a wedding album. From storybook to slightly more traditional and hand assembled bespoke albums there are styles and tastes to suit all budgets. Yes, the albums can be expensive, but they should be !!  When making an investment you want to ensure that the quality of both the album and the printing stands the test of time. This is not just for a wedding couple, but for their children & grandchildren down through the years.

Remember cassette tapes ? Well DVDs could be heading down the obsolete road soon, and although I provide USB keys, how long will it be till they become outdated ? What doesn’t become obsolete or go out of style ?? Photographs ! With a high quality wedding album you have a tangible object which can be handed down through generations for years and dragged out on special occasions (anniversaries, childrens weddings etc..) even if it’s just to laugh at the fashions & hairstyles !!!

You won’t regret investing in an album, but you may regret not doing so.  See below for a storybook layout of a recent wedding 🙂

I regularly get asked the same questions by couples, so, have decided to put up a few of the more frequently asked ones along with answers. If there is anything not addressed here which you are concerned about, or require clarification on, just drop me a line and I will get back to you.

  • How many photos do we receive ?

This is very hard to gauge as each wedding is different, each couple have their own requirements and factors such as weather, location etc. can have a bearing. However, for a typical wedding, with coverage from the bridal preparations up to the start of the meal, you are looking at between 400-500 photos,

  • Will our photos be watermarked ?

No. All images are fully edited, colour balanced and print ready with no watermarks.

  • Will we own the copyright on the photos ?

The copyright for all photos remains with the photographer. You get full printing and reproduction rights, you also get all images in lo-resolution for sharing via email & social media. But the copyright remains with me. In effect, what this means is that you cannot distribute or sell the images to third parties for their advertising purposes, nor can you enter them into competitions. Very often a simple phonecall can clear the matter up (all exposure is good exposure).

  • Can we get extended coverage ?

Yes, see under packages for the details but extended coverage is available up to the first few dances at a price of €250. This covers photos of the speeches, and ad-hoc photos as well as the couples first dance and the next few dances (when your guests have plenty of energy !!). There are however some terms & conditions. This coverage is up to a “reasonable” time, the latest being 10:30pm. Depending on travel distance home and workload at the time this might not be available. At some stage during the meal I need to get a break of at least 60 mins to get some food and recharge the batteries (my own…not the cameras). In the case where there is no public bar or restaurant facilities the couple must talk to the venue to ensure that, at the very least, coffee & sandwiches are available.

  • How long before we get our photos?

Due to workload, and the fact that I edit each image individually and take as much time as needed to ensure your images are of the highest possible standard you are looking at a waiting time of between 8-10 weeks. These photos are to last a lifetime and beyond so I won’t take shortcuts and rush out any images.

  • Do our photos have to appear on Facebook ?

No, this is entirely up to each couple. With some it’s popular, with others it’s not, so I leave the decision up to you. However, I do reserve the right to enter any photographs into professional competition and, if any awards are received then there may be some publicity, but no names of couples are used.

  • Do you have a second photographer, or do you have a videographer you work with ?

As my style is to blend into the background as much as possible, having a second shooter is not something I do. On some rare occasions I may bring an assistant, but most of the time I operate solo. I don’t offer video services, but I do have contact details for a number of great videographers who would operate very similar to me, just ask and I am always happy to pass on their details. In fact, I have a long list of other suppliers such as church singers, florists, make up artists which I can recommend – just ask 🙂

Recently more & more couples have expressed an interest in extended coverage up to the first few dances as my coverage normally ends at the start of the reception meal.

Interest has been so great that I have decided to add extended coverage to my packages,

As an add-on, coverage to the first few dances is available at a cost of €275. This covers speeches, ad hoc photography and first dance

photos up to 10:30 pm or whatever occurs first. Please note that depending on location of reception, and if I happen to be shooting the

following day this coverage might not be available.
