Another wedding album on its way

Real Weddings

Whereas I never pressure couples into getting an album, I do believe its so worth the investment.

Most people are delighted to have a sunny wedding day, but not most photographers…harsh light, heavy shadows and squinting guests can make photography a real challenge. Thankfully. most experienced photographers know how to work with, and combat the tough lighting conditions that the sun can cause. My most recent wedding was one such day, bright & harsh sunlight, but with the right location and positioning we were still able to come up with some lovely images.

So far, 2017 has been a fab year with lots of new venues, and the privilege of shooting some fantastic weddings for lovely couples.

Throughout the year I stayed true to my general style where the “focus” is on informal and relaxed photography with a few shots with a bit of the wow factor thrown in. My main goal on the day is to ensure that each couple get to spend as much time as possible with their family and friends rather than in front of the camera but without any compromise on the quality of the final images.

2018 is looking good with a couple of months already booked out, and some enquiries coming in for 2019 and even 2020 !!

The few photos below are just a sample of what I do and all taken from this years weddings.

Feel free to drop me a line through the contact form to check availability and I will be delighted to get back to you.

It had been quite a few years since I shot at the Millhouse in Slane so was delighted when I was asked to shoot the wedding of Tracey & Charles there back in March. The day was full of those little touches and personal bits & pieces all planned from Australia and coming together perfectly on the other side of the world with little or no fuss and a totally relaxed & informal atmosphere. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday (despite the clocks going forward the previous night !!). Have a look yourself at some of the images which are presently winging their way over to Australia. Hope you enjoy.

Jenny had been a bridesmaid at a wedding I shot in 2011 so I was delighted that 5 years later she contacted me about shooting her & Ronans wedding. The brief was simple, minimal time posing, maximum time mingling. with such a relaxed & friendly couple, along with slightly mad guests that was never going to be a problem, and we had the backdrop of Bellinter House to work with. The sun shone, the day flew by and before we knew it it was time for the first dance. It is always a pleasure to shoot someones wedding, but there are days when everything just falls perfectly into place – this was one of those. To top it all off I received a lovely thank you note from Jenny & Ronan and I was delighted to hear how happy they were with their photos. Hopefully the few images below will give you an idea of the day.

“Kevin, thank you so much for the amazing job you did on our wedding photographs – we are so delighted with them. Thank you also for being so lovely on the day, you really made it such an easy and relaxed experience for us which was just what we wanted.  Best wishes, Jenny & Ronan.”

When I met Aisling & Alan on the lead up to their wedding we discussed the possibility of a sunset shot. I was staying to the first dances, and I know Tulfarris (wedding venue) quite well so had a spot in mind for a quick shot between the end of the meal & the first dances. On the morning of the wedding it was wet & overcast, and during the day this changed to windy and overcast but no sign of the sun. After the cake cutting the sun was still being elusive, but after a quick chat we decided to go outside anyway as the fresh air and a little bit of “quiet” time was very tempting to the happy couple. As we strolled down to where I had planned a gap in the clouds appeared, followed by a quick 5 mins of a sunset over the Blessington Lakes. Throughout the day I had promised a sunset shot, but mainly as a joke, but we were rewarded in spades for a quick walk outside 🙂
