Chris & Phil – Dublin City Wedding

informal wedding photographer dublin

August 8, 2016 by Kevin Morris

Spent a lovely couple of hours with Chris & Phil as they officially tied the knot in Dublins Registry office at the end of July. The weather stared off a bit wet as we left Brooks Hotel, but the rain lifted as we reached Stephens Green and headed on through Merrion Square and on to the registry office. It was a simple, informal but a very meaningful celebration and the happiness was infectious. I left before lunch with a huge smile on my face. ready to take on the weekend !! I’m currently taking bookings for 2018 & have some availability remaining for 2017 so feel free to get in touch 🙂

I had photographed the wedding of Grainnes sister, Yvonne a couple of years ago and when I arrived for the preps my photos were all over the walls !!! So, although I was delighted to see them, I also felt a wave of pressure to deliver !! I needn’t have worried as I was made feel at home from I walked in the door, and, with all of Grainne & Johns planning the small details were all laid out and beautifully presented. The wedding lent itself to its location n Wrights Anglers rest, intimate with a bit of a shabby chic feeling to it. The “goodie” table was laid out with all sorts of cakes, biscuits and sweet things, so much so that the guests were afraid to eat them, which was a result for me as I bagged me a few treats (with permission) for the trip home.

I was delighted to hear back from Grainne & John this morning :

“Hi Kevin,
Sorry for only getting back to you now, busy weekend! Well we are so thrilled with our pictures! Firstly thank you for presenting them in such a unique gorgeous way! So so pretty!
The pictures really portrayed our day perfectly, just great fun! They really captured the vibe we had for our wedding, rustic, vintage, country & low key. There are so many fab & quirky pics that we just love especially of John & I inside the venue.
We have such gorgeous pics with nearly every special person that was at our wedding & we’ll be able to cherish all those memories so thank you so much again. Everyone just looks so happy. We are getting great feed back on them, I shared some on FB. So thank you Kevin, we are delighted.com!
Take care & keep up the great work ?
Grainne & John xo “

Although my most popular package is still my digital package, I always recommend couples to come back to me at some stage to organize a wedding album. From storybook to slightly more traditional and hand assembled bespoke albums there are styles and tastes to suit all budgets. Yes, the albums can be expensive, but they should be !!  When making an investment you want to ensure that the quality of both the album and the printing stands the test of time. This is not just for a wedding couple, but for their children & grandchildren down through the years.

Remember cassette tapes ? Well DVDs could be heading down the obsolete road soon, and although I provide USB keys, how long will it be till they become outdated ? What doesn’t become obsolete or go out of style ?? Photographs ! With a high quality wedding album you have a tangible object which can be handed down through generations for years and dragged out on special occasions (anniversaries, childrens weddings etc..) even if it’s just to laugh at the fashions & hairstyles !!!

You won’t regret investing in an album, but you may regret not doing so.  See below for a storybook layout of a recent wedding 🙂
