I love shooting at the Cliff at Lyons, so was really looking forward to the wedding of Lisa & Brian especially after having a chat over coffee on the build-up to the day and seeing that their wishes for the day matched perfectly with mine, relaxed informal photography, all while using the fab surroundings to create a few timeless images with the WOW factor. Turing up at Lisas parents house I was delighted to see that make-up was being done by the very talented Laura Kay and hair being looked after by the equally talented Leanne Nolan of Vow to Wow. Even the weather played ball making the day a real “If Carlsberg did weddings” day – it’s no wonder that a couple of my images from the day have got on to win awards at the IPPA Photographer of the Year competition. Delighted to be announced as a finalist in the IPPA / Bank of Ireland Professional Photographer of the year 2017.

These awards are voted on by our peers so it makes them very special and although I have no ideas of winning, it’s fantastic to be involved and included among so many talented craftspersons. See attached for my final panel of images that made the cut and a big thanks to all the couples who put their trust in me to capture their day.

It’s been a few years since I shot at the Millhouse and I was really looking forward to going back. I wasn’t disappointed – stunning venue, extremely laid back and relaxed couple along with fab weather. Watch out for a sneak peek over the coming weeks, but here’s one to keep you going

From an epic engagement shoot through to the dancing, Sam & Barrys wedding went like a dream. A nice relaxed atmosphere from start to finish and, to top it all off, some lovely words after the happy couple received their photos.

We can’t tell you how pleased we were with our own photos. You helped make the day the most memorable day of our lives. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience with your help. You will be happy to know we spent a number of weeks after we received them showing them off and raving to whoever would listen as to how happy we were with them. Thank you.

My brief for Aisling & Marks wedding was simple – lots of unposed shots of friends & family enjoying themselves – suited my style perfectly. Such a relaxed & friendly couple to work with made the day even better and, despite the weather being a shocker on the day, everyone had a great time and the staff at Glasson were as helpful as always. A surprise addition of a singing waiter kept the day buzzing along till everyone hit the dancefloor with gusto. Was a privilege to be part of this great day 🙂

Having shot Anne-Maries sisters wedding, and having spent many happy summers on Achill this was a wedding I was really looking forward to and it didn’t disappoint. I spent the weekend in Ostan Oilean Acla on Achill Sound and the hearty breakfast set me up perfectly for the day. Despite pliers being needed for the final dress adjustment, horizontal rain (Achill is famed for four seasons in an hour…not a day….an hour !!) and a few kamakazi sheep the craic & laughs were flying, all helped by the Dublin / Mayo banter (All Ireland Final looming) – the whole wedding was nicely rounded off when I received this lovely message from Anne-Marie and Stephen.

“Hi Kevin, the photos landed safe and sound on Friday. We both can’t get over how AMAZING they turned out. With the weather being so bad we were a little anxious on how many we would have. All we can say is you’re truly are a magician with a camera ? We really are so glad to have made the 10 minute dash outside between rain showers to take some pics. They are unbelievable, you really wouldn’t think it was the same day! We are delighted to have these photos to relive our special day and share with our family and friends. We cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us on the day and the producing these amazing pictures.
