Rarely do I get a chance to do local weddings, so, it was a pleasure to be asked to cover Heather & Davids wedding. Not only was the church 5 mins drive away from my home, but the reception was in the fab Bellingham Castle where I love shooting. We popped out to Tower Bay (another haunt of mine) for a couple of photos before we headed up the motorway to Bellingham. sadly, their VW had an “issue” and they had to flag down friends for a lift to get to the hotel !!! It all added up to the fun of the day. The sun shone and everyone enjoyed the stunning surroundings of the castle, and their fab beer garden. Hopefully my photos capture the moments of a very enjoyable day. I’m currently taking bookings for 2018 & have some availability remaining for 2017 so feel free to get in touch 🙂

Have been quiet on here for the last while as work has me swamped (a great complaint !!). May is traditionally my busiest month between weddings, communions & confirmations and now I can focus on editing and sending out the remaining weddings from the last few months.
Once again, over the last 5 months, I realised how lucky I am to do what I do. Not only do I love photography, but I have met some wonderful, friendly & quirky couples…..and don’t get me started on the bridesmaids !! I have also worked with old colleagues from the wedding industry, visited some new venues, called back to familiar ones and taken bookings for some potentially really exciting weddings.
As I have said in previous posts, my “mission” on the day is to create stunning, artistic images, along with informal shots capturing the atmosphere – all the while making it as painless and smooth a process as possible, giving each couple plenty of time to mingle with their friends & family. If that sounds like what you want for your big day just drop me a line through the contact page and we can take things from there.
In the meantime, see below for a small selection of a few of the weddings so far – hope you enjoy 🙂

Although my most popular package is still my digital package, I always recommend couples to come back to me at some stage to organize a wedding album. From storybook to slightly more traditional and hand assembled bespoke albums there are styles and tastes to suit all budgets. Yes, the albums can be expensive, but they should be !! Â When making an investment you want to ensure that the quality of both the album and the printing stands the test of time. This is not just for a wedding couple, but for their children & grandchildren down through the years.
Remember cassette tapes ? Well DVDs could be heading down the obsolete road soon, and although I provide USB keys, how long will it be till they become outdated ? What doesn’t become obsolete or go out of style ?? Photographs ! With a high quality wedding album you have a tangible object which can be handed down through generations for years and dragged out on special occasions (anniversaries, childrens weddings etc..) even if it’s just to laugh at the fashions & hairstyles !!!
You won’t regret investing in an album, but you may regret not doing so. See below for a storybook layout of a recent wedding 🙂

Sometimes things just fall into place. When shooting Jodi & Jonathans wedding in the stunning surroundings of Kilshance House, we had a choice to make. While at the local church it was a case of greeting line or no greeting line, the weather was baltic so we decided to head back to the hotel. We pulled in down by the lake and the late evening light was coming through the tress which were in the height of their autumn colours. We managed to grab a few pics before the wind picked up, along with showers and we headed to the warmth of the open fires in Kilshane. We spent 15 mins taking photos in the forest, but, if we had have had a greeting line it would have been too dark & cold – the result………a selection of fab pics of the couple, one of which is below.

I did quite a few weddings during 2014 and they were all very special & joyous occasions – however, the wedding of Stephanie & Joshua will linger long in my mind. Traveling from the USA, this was such an intimate affair with a total of 18 guests (including the bride & groom). It was set in the fab Hunters Hotel, a spot I hadn’t been to previously, and it was run by Collette from Elegant Events so I knew from previous experience the little touches would be perfect. But perhaps the most memorable part of the day was the fact the Stephanie (the bride) had just been discharged from hospital after taking severely ill, and was only discharged because she was getting married. Did this affect her ?? Not in the slightest !! The giddiness, the fun and the love between Stephanie & Joshua shone through, as did the evening sun making for some memorable photos.Hope you enjoy 🙂
