What a wonderful year we had in 2019 – met some fab couples, shot at some stunning venues and revisited some old favourites. Throughout the year we did our best to stick to our core values of offering a stress free and relaxed photography experience whilst not compromising on the quality of the final images. We prefer to capture little moments rather than overly posed photos with each couple shoot concentrating on the love and connection rather than big cheesy grins.

For our year end blog post we have picked 19 images which sum up our style and what we try to achieve. This is not a “best of” nor a list of favourite photos, just a hint of what we provide along with a small commentary on each to explain.

We hope you enjoy this review of the year and, if you think we might be a match to what you are looking for we would be delighted if you got in touch.

001

Daddy getting good luck hugs before he heads to marry Mammy

002

When presented with a stunning location you can’t pass up the opportunity. I love this timeless image shot during Louise &  Johns big day at Ballymagarvey Village.

003

Having a serious band set up can lead to epic first dance photos – helped by the sheer happiness of Christina & Christopher.

004

Charlotte walking her Mammy to the altar

005

Typical of so many of our shots – leaving the couple to have a chat and a cuddle while we take a back seat. Its when you feel relaxed and comfortable that the connection and love really starts to show.

006

It’s important that we blend in and become part of the morning leaving everyone to enjoy themselves let their hair down and have a laugh, capturing these moments is a large part of our day.

007

See above comment !!!! 🙂

008

We love our walking shots, and this is one of our favourites from Sligo during the summer. Sometimes strong sunlight can be a nightmare for photographers, but sometimes the light can produce magic.

009

Just after saying “I do” – Nialls smile says it all.

010

When the light and a bit of imagination work wonders. There was beautiful light in Belleek woods for Juls & Matties wedding. We did our usual “you two have a chat and don’t mind us” and poked through the bushes & trees till we found a gap that perfectly framed the couple.

011

Daddys first look – no words needed.

012

Just a little moment captured in the fab grounds of Lough Rynn. You don’t always have to have a big smile on.

013

Coverage to the speeches & dancing is becoming more & more popular – it’s no wonder when you can capture fun shots like this one.

014

Another of our “walking shots” – this time in the fab grounds at Killashee House Hotel.

015

Use of the hotel grounds when they are as stunning at Mount Juliets walled garden is a must.

siobhan4-6

Your day flies by in an instant – all the more reason to let yourself go & enjoy yourself

017

Sometimes the couple shoot can descend into giggles – makes for some fab shots !

018

It was raining and a little cold and I asked Siobhan & Frankie if they were up to a quick pop outside. Turns out that this was a shot that Siobhan had been wanting but was afraid to ask for – never be afraid to suggest shots to your photographer, you only have one chance to get them.

019

Perhaps my favourite shot of the year – Just after his Mam & Dad tied the knot Ollie shows his delight with his enthusiastic thumbs up !!

During the summer I had the pleasure of shooting Patria & Conors big day, from Bohola up to The Diamond Coast in Enniscrone with a quick stop in Belleek Castle Woods. This was a lot of firsts for me, first time I stopped in Bohola, first time in Belleek Castle Woods and first time in the Diamond Coast. The whole day was so laid back and fun, lots of smiles and laughs and so relaxed that the time flew by, but both Patria and Conor still had plenty of time to mingle with their friends and family. One of those days when everything fell nicely into place. I’m so glad they ordered an album, it’s one thing to look at your photos on a screen, but they really come to life in an album. Have a look at the photos and try not to smile along with everyone.

So that’s another year in the can. Many thanks to everyone who put their trust in me for their big day, I met so many great couples, warm & welcoming families and my fair share of slightly mad bridesmaids and there was never a dull moment. I got to visit some new venues this year as well as revisit some old favourites. We really have some stunning venues throughout the country and such hardworking staff to ensure the day goes without a hitch (apart from one major one !!!)
A large percentage of my weddings come from referrals, so I also get the added bonus of meeting up with lots of previous couples at their friends weddings. I am extremely grateful for all referrals – they are the bookings that always mean the most.
This coming year is looking bright with a few more new venues along with meeting some families for the second (and third !!) times. I am fairly tied up through to the end of August with just a few select dates available, September through to November has better availability but the far side of Christmas up to NYE is booked out.
If you would like your photography to be relaxed, unobtrusive but with a bit of the WOW factor thrown in why not drop me a line to check availability.

For the month of January I am running a special, for all weddings booked & deposit paid. Book a standard digital package and receive a free upgrade to a deluxe USB presentation box which includes 100 6*4 inch photos from your day carefully selected to create your personal storyline. Book any standard album package and get a free album upgrade from 30 to 40 pages. This is only applicable for January bookings, but can be applied to 2017 and 2018 weddings. Details of package & prices are available through the website.

See below for a selection of images from throughout the year – not a best of nor a collection of favourites, just a few images that sum up my style of photography and how I try to balance the small moments with stunning wedding images.

Fiona & Kevin travelled home from Australia over Christmas for their wedding which was everything a good wedding should be. Relaxed, fun, yet with lots of personal touches, fab venue and warm & friendly families & guests. The bad weather got in on the act and gave us 30 mins of a dry spell and even Bosco mad an appearance !! – what more could you want ?? It’s an overused phrase, but this wedding really was a pleasure to shoot 🙂  –  hope you enjoy the pics below.

Lets face it, a wedding in Ireland at any time of the year is not guaranteed good weather. On the 28th December Ballymagarvey village looked stunning for the wedding of Fiona & Kevin but unfortunately the weather let us down with heavy winds and rain showers. We did however catch a break with a 15 min dry spell and we used what we could to create some lovely images. This one is one of my favourites, shot through a Christmas tree and its fairy lights – hope you like it 🙂
